Tester email list formatter for the Play Console

Paste messy addresses, get a clean, deduplicated list split into chunks within the official list limit.

In this guide

You collected tester addresses from chats, spreadsheets and emails. The Play Console wants a clean list. This tool will turn the mess into one. The function itself is added later; this text explains what it does and where it stops.

What the Play Console expects

According to Play Console Help (retrieved 2026-10-23):

  • You can enter addresses separated by commas, or upload a CSV file.
  • In a CSV file, each address goes on its own line, with no commas. Uploading a CSV replaces the addresses already in the list.
  • Files saved as UTF-8 with BOM are not accepted.
  • For closed tests: up to 200 lists, each with up to 2,000 users.

Check the current page before relying on these numbers.

Inputs

Paste any text that contains addresses: one per line, comma-separated, copied from a mail client, with names like Anna <anna@example.com>.

What it does

  • Finds the addresses and drops everything else.
  • Lowercases them and removes duplicates.
  • Flags entries that are clearly not addresses.
  • Splits the list into chunks if it is longer than the list limit you set.
  • Gives you a comma-separated block and a one-address-per-line block to copy, or a plain CSV.

Limits

  • It cannot tell whether an address is real or whether the person uses it with a Google account. Testers need a Google account address to opt in.
  • It does not upload anything to the Play Console. You paste or upload the result yourself.
  • Everything runs in your browser. The addresses never leave the page and nothing is stored.
  • Respect your testers: only use addresses people gave you for this test.

Next steps

After the list is in, send the opt-in link and a first message. The day 1 checklist covers that. For the evidence you need later, see the results report template.
