TestFlight is Apple's app for installing and testing beta builds on iPhone and iPad. This guide covers the path from invitation to first launch and how to send feedback with a screenshot.
What you need
- An iPhone or iPad you can test on.
- The invitation: either an email from the developer or a public link.
- The TestFlight app from the App Store.
Install the beta
- Install TestFlight on the device you will test with.
- On that same device, open the invitation email and tap View in TestFlight, or tap the public link.
- If you are new to this beta, accept the invitation, then install. If you have tested it before, you will see Update or Open instead.
Apple TV works differently: the email leads to a page with a redemption code, which you enter under Redeem in the TestFlight app on the TV.
Send feedback with a screenshot
- Take a screenshot inside the beta app.
- Tap the thumbnail, mark up the problem if you like, and tap Done.
- Tap Share Beta Feedback.
- Add your comment (up to 4,000 characters) and tap Submit.
You can also open the app's page in TestFlight and tap Send Beta Feedback, then choose to include a screenshot.
For AppReviewX tasks
TestFlight feedback reaches the developer through TestFlight. Your AppReviewX feedback is what counts for the task: write what you did, what you expected and what happened. A screenshot is a good supplement. Tips: Screenshot tips for testers: show the problem clearly.
Exact menu wording can change with TestFlight updates; follow what the app shows you.
