Test rounds from the tester's side: day by day

11 developers, 5 days, 2 tests a day: how a test round works and how your 5-credit deposit comes back.

In this guide

A test round is a fixed schedule in which developers of already published apps test each other. It was formerly called a "testing pack".

How a round works

  • 11 developers take part, each with one app that is already published in a store. Rounds are only for published apps.
  • A round runs 5 days with 2 tests per day. Each app is tested once by each of the 10 others, so you test the 10 other apps: 2 per day over 5 days.
  • You open the app's public store page, add a screenshot as proof of testing, and write your feedback (at least 50 characters). The owner accepts or declines it. See Why feedback can be rejected and how to avoid it.

The deposit

  • You put down a deposit of 5 credits to join.
  • For each test you submit you get 0.5 credit back. 10 tests = the whole deposit.

Day by day

Day What you do
1 Test 2 of the other 10 apps
2 Test 2 more
3 Test 2 more
4 Test 2 more
5 Test the last 2

Not the same as Google Play test groups

Google Play test groups (12 testers, 14 days in a row) are for Android apps before or around release. They are a separate thing and work differently from test rounds.
