ASO (app store optimization) means improving how your app is found and how well its store page convinces people to install. Field names and limits differ per store, so check the current store documentation.
- Impression: your app was shown, for example in search results.
- Product page view: someone opened your store page.
- Conversion rate: the share of viewers who take the next step, such as installing. Define which step you measure.
- Keyword field / keywords: where you tell a store which search terms fit your app (an explicit field on some stores, text-based on others).
- Title and subtitle: the app name and the short line beneath it; both are weighed for search and read by people.
- Short and long description: the store text fields; the first lines are seen first.
- Screenshots and preview video: visuals on the product page.
- Custom listing: a store page variant for a specific audience, where the store offers it.
- A/B test (store listing experiment): showing two versions of an element to compare results.
- Localization: adapting the listing to a language and market.
- Category: the store section your app belongs to.
- Ranking: your position for a search term or chart.
Example: 1,000 page views and 50 installs would be a 5% conversion rate (made-up numbers for illustration).
