- Qualitative feedback: descriptions in words that explain why something happens.
- Quantitative data: numbers that show how much or how often.
- Structured feedback: answers to set questions, so reports are comparable.
- Open feedback: free-form comments with no set questions.
- Triage: sorting incoming feedback into fix now, later, or no.
- Affinity mapping: grouping similar comments into themes to see patterns.
- Think-aloud: a tester says out loud what they see, expect and do while using the app.
- Usability test: watching people try a task to find where they get stuck.
- Friction: anything that makes a task harder or slower than needed.
- Persona: a described typical user, used to keep decisions grounded.
- Bias: a distortion in feedback, for example loud users being treated as everyone.
- Closing the loop: telling people what you did with their feedback.
Example: five testers say "I didn't know where to start" in different words. Affinity mapping puts them under one theme, "onboarding unclear", which you then triage as fix now.
