- Bug: behavior that differs from what the app should do.
- Severity: how bad the damage is when the bug happens (crash vs typo).
- Priority: how soon you decide to fix it. Severity and priority are related but not the same.
- Repro steps: the exact steps that make the bug appear again.
- Reproducible: the bug happens every time you follow the repro steps.
- Expected vs actual result: what should happen, and what did.
- Regression: something that worked before and broke after a change.
- Smoke test: a quick pass over the core flows to see if a build is worth testing further.
- Edge case: an unusual input or situation, such as an empty field or no network.
- Blocker: a bug that stops testing or release.
- Workaround: a way for users to get around the bug.
- Duplicate: a report of a bug already reported.
- Test case: a written check with steps and an expected result.
- Exploratory testing: testing without a script, following what you notice.
- Crash log: the technical record of an app crash.
Example: "Pay button does nothing after rotating the screen." Severity: high (blocks purchase). Priority: fix this week. Repro: open cart, rotate, tap Pay.
